Are you deaf? We want to make sure that you're getting the best possible dental care.
A message from Andrea: We have a number of profoundly deaf patients and all my staff are used to dealing with deaf people. Being hard of hearing myself, I know how frustrating it is to not understand what is going on. It's really important to me that you truly understand what the situation is with you oral health, and that you get a full picture of what your options are and how to look after your teeth properly at home. I'm finding that a lot of deaf people are really in the dark about these things. I have had a fair few NZSL lessons but I get rusty between patients! Great communication is really important to me for all my patients. Because I think this is so vital for your health I would recommend that you bring an interpreter to your appointment. Click on iSign below to book! This is FREE OF CHARGE. The other thing I like to do is to provide a written transcript of our conversation which you can refer back to. Appointments with me are usually generous in length, but I like to allow even more time for someone who is deaf, so when you book - either online, or by email - please let us know so that we can allow longer for you.
